Real Radio presenter Cat Harveys' fear of flying
Leading Edge have stepped in to help Real Radio presenter Cat Harvey overcome her fear of flying.
Cat was given the news live on air that Leading Edge would teach her the basics of flying an aircraft on their flight simulator at Cumbernauld Airport.
She would then take to the skys as pilot in one of the schools 4 seat aircraft….along with a CAA approved flying instructor.

FAA approved simulator
Leading Edge now has an operational FAA approved simulator at our Cumbernauld PPL Training School.
While it cannot be logged officially towards any JAA/JAR courses it is proving a great tool to help students understand the requirements for their lesson before getting into the aircraft.
For the basic private pilots license, it can help demonstrate several key points including navigation (particularly radio aids), instrument scan, etc.
Our IMC students can practice the procedures and understand better the techniques required.
With the increasing costs of fuel, we feel that the number of hours required in the air are reduced for those using the simulator.

With our partnership with ACS Aviation and Air Service Training at Perth, Leading Edge can now provide all training modules towards a Commercial Pilot License.
The PPL and hour-building can be completed at any of our sites. The ground instruction is completed at ASTs’ purpose built training block on Perth Airport.
The CPL, Multi Engine, and Instrument Rating are currently completed at Perth Airport.
Leading Edge has developed into Scotlands’ leading flight training school for the recreational flyer.
The aircraft shown was our first aircraft and it is still being used today; along with several other aircraft which have been added to our fleet.
Our formal partnership with ACS Aviation based at Perth Airport has developed to the point that we can now offer our members training to Commercial levels.
